UFC Junior Dos Santos

The good news for heavyweight champ Junior dos Santos (Pictured), no UFC 146 fighter was paid more than the $200,000 flat salary he pocketed. The bad news for JDS, the man he utterly destroyed made the exact same amount in defeat.

Despite getting TKO’d in the 2ndRound of Saturday night’s main event, Frank Mir also took home a cool $200k for merely stepping inside the Octagon.

Former champion Cain Velasquez left Las Vegas with the same stack, but half of his $200,000 paycheck came via ‘win bonus’ for annihilating Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in the show’s co-featured attraction.

Please keep in mind, the numbers that get reported to the athletic commissions are only of what’s required. These figures do not include deductions for items such as licenses and taxes.

Additionally, they do not contain money paid by sponsors or any bonuses from the UFC. These royalties can include pay-per-view commissions, Fight Night bonuses, top secret discretionary bonuses, etc., which can oftentimes represent a substantial portion of a fighter’s total income.

MGM Grand Garden Arena in Nevada hosted this weekend’s festivities.
