UFC Light Heavyweight Quinton Rampage Jackson

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (pictured) has found a new home. The former UFC light heavyweight champion has inked a multi-year deal to join Bellator MMA.

Rampage’s contract with the Viacom-owned promotion will also allow him to dabble in TNA Impact Wrestling, a la Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal. In addition, Spike TV will create a special reality series featuring Rampage that will lead into his debut with Bellator, along with other entertainment initiatives.

“Rampage is a true superstar both inside and outside the MMA cage” said Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney. “The partnership that we’ve created with Quinton is unlike anything that’s ever been done in the sports & entertainment arena and Rampage is the perfect athlete/entertainer to carry it off.”

Rampage essentially completed his contractual obligations with the UFC following January’s unanimous decision defeat to Glover Teixeira. Although there was some fine print at the bottom of Rampage’s contract that allowed the UFC to match any offer that came across his table, the planet’s premier mixed martial arts promotion opted to part ways because of the disrespectful comments he made leading up to his final Octagon fights.

The 34-year-old’s three-fight losing skid certainly didn’t make him a top free agent priority, either.

No official word on when Rampage will make his Bellator debut.

Rampage teased fans late Monday night with a comeback by tweeting, “It’s gonna feel good putting this chain back on… Big news coming real soon.”

The controversial slugger owns a 32-11 professional record. He went just 7-5 under the UFC’s watch.
