The Ultimate Fighter

This week’s episode started with Jesse Taylor celebrating his victory over Mike Dolce with a couple of beers and some basic house destruction back at the “Ultimate Fighter” house.

From there we saw some trash talking between Matthew Riddle (Team Rampage) and Dante Rivera (Team Griffin).

The show then moves to Team Rampage’s training session where he admitted that he, “learned a lot behind the first lost, I learned that I need to see exactly what my guys are capable of so I can know what to work with them on before their fight because I don’t know these guys from Adam.”

C.B. Dollaway thinks that Team Griffin will pick either Patrick Schultz to keep the ball in their court until they reach the top guys on Team Rampage which prompts the quote of the night from Rampage, “Forrest looks stupid but he ain’t as stupid as he look.”

Matthew Riddle continues his rant on wanting to fight Dante Rivera which takes us to the fight selection where Forrest Griffin announces that Tim Credeur will take on Matthew Riddle. Griffin then says that, “Tim’s one of our better guys and he thinks he can take him (Matthew Riddle).”

Rampage is then shown telling Riddle, “we need this. No pressure.” Tim Credeur admits that he wants to fight guys that are, “going to get me better at fighting,” and unfortunately Patrick Schultz isn’t the guy to get him better.

Back at home Matthew Riddle and Dante Rivera continue to trash talk with Rivera wanting to bet Riddle $500 that he won’t get past the 1stRound against Credeur.

At the weigh-ins both Riddle and Credeur make the required weight. Riddle is smiling during the stare down which Credeur takes offense to and says that Riddle, “ain’t got a lot to smile about for long.”

The fight starts with Riddle scoring the takedown and taking Credeur’s back. Once the fighters get back to their feet its Credeur and not Riddle who looks most confident on their feet, but Riddle was able to score a throw and push Credeur up against the cage. Credeur fights back to his feet and he gets a takedown on Riddle and starts to land some ground-and-pound. Riddle reverses position and ends back up in Credeur’s butterfly-guard where Credeur reverses Riddle and gets the full-mount. Riddle eats some punches and elbows and gives up his back where he rides out the round (Credeur takes the 1stRound 10-9).

When the 2ndRound starts Credeur gets taken down again, but is able to reverse Riddle up against the cage. Riddle lands an illegal up-kick which earns him a warning from the referee, but he’s still eating punches from Credeur. Once they stand back up, Credeur is visibly gassed as Riddle lands some sloppy punches and takes down Credeur. Team Rampage is urging Riddle to stand the fight back up but Riddle doesn’t listen and tries to land some ground-and pound of his own. Credeur was able to attempt a triangle from the bottom which allows him to get back in the full-mount and grab an arm-bar which forced Riddle to tap out.

Rampage is upset at Riddle after the fight for not standing the fight back up when Credeur looked like he was out on his feet due to exhaustion. Rampage is shown yelling saying, “we keep losing to these punks man, they can’t even fight!” When Riddle leaves the Octagon Rampage pulls him aside and talks to him and states his disappointment in his loss because Rampage was really counting on Riddle to turn the tide and get “The Hammer”.
