UFC Releases More Tickets For UFC 85: Bedlam
With exactly a month to go before UFC 85:Bedlam is underway in London, England and the UFC has decided to release more tickets than they were originally planning to sell. During the event’s pre-sale, over 7,000 tickets were sold for the O2 Arena which has a seating capacity of 15,000.
UFC 85 has had two main-events fall apart, but the UFC is making up for it by having 13 fights and a main event that features the return of Matt Hughes against the #2 contender for the UFC Welterweight title in Thiago Alves.
With the U.K.’s own Michael Bisping on the card, the people over at the UFC are confident that with the newly released tickets UFC 85 will still sell out long before June 7th.
Here’s the press release from the UFC:
UFC Releases Additional UFC 85 Tickets
The Ultimate Fighting Championship® is proud to announce that, due to stunning public demand, a limited number of additional tickets have been released for UFC(R) 85: BEDLAM at the o2 Arena, London, England, on June 7.
With over 7,000 tickets sold during pre-sale, the original remaining seats to the UFC’s return to the capital city are on the verge of selling out over a month before the 13-fight super-card explodes at the o2 Arena.
However, the UFC has worked hard with its production crew and o2 Arena staff to release a limited number of additional seats in the lower price bands to its loyal UK fans.
UFC UK Division President Marshall Zelaznik said: “The support from our UK fans is so passionate that we have set records in four of the largest venues in Great Britain over the last year. However, the demand from our fans to see UFC 85 live and in person was such we decided to finalize production plans early to so we could make these seats available.”
Zelaznik added: “We feel that more than any other fight promoter in the world, the UFC goes the extra mile to ensure that every fan who buys a ticket has the best possible view of the action, including the erection of giant screens around the arena. However, we have found a way to release more seats for UFC 85 without compromising on our world famous in-arena experience.”
One of the reasons UFC 85 has been London’s hottest ticket
of the summer is the sheer depth and quality of what - at 13 fights in one night - is literally the biggest UFC card in over a decade.UFC 85: BEDLAM will see welterweight legend Matt Hughes collide with red hot contender Thiago Alves, undefeated light heavyweight ‘Sugar’ Rashad Evans matches his world class wrestling skills against the one-punch KO power of James ‘the Sandman’ Irvin, heavyweights Brandon Vera and Fabricio Werdum throw down in an elimination bout and England’s own Michael ‘the Count’ Bisping pits his striking skills against the raw power of Chris ‘the Crippler’ Leben in a mouth-watering middleweight match up.
Backed up by the deepest supporting card since the mid-1990s, UFC 85 is expected to sell out - for a second time – long before June 7.
