The Ultimate Fighter S07E08 Show Recap
Last night’s episode of “The Ultimate Fighter” picked up where the previous episode left off, as Forrest Griffin, “Chris Leben’s his door,” according to UFC President Dana White. Griffin called it a “man period.” Both coaches obviously are ready to get into the Octagon to face each other.
Dana White heads into Rampage’s locker room and clarifies why his fighter, Patrick Schultz, lost to Cale Yarbrough. White said that the judges gave Schultz the 1stRound, 10-9, but he lost the 2ndRound, 10-8.
Team Rampage is now down to Team Forrest 1-6 and the next fight is the last of the preliminaries as Team Rampage’s CB Dollaway will face Team Forrest’s Nick Klein.
Klein is shown back at the fighter house admitting that he’s a little “rattled” at the aspect of fighting and that he feels that he’s the “weakest link.”
At the Team Forrest training session, Forrest Griffin comes in with a “net gun” which shoots out a net and the Team Forrest fighters come up with the idea to shoot Rampage with the net gun. Griffin likes the idea and says, “what’s he going to do? Beat me up?”
After Rampage’s sparring session, Griffin walks in with his net gun while Rampage is sitting up against the Octagon cage resting. Rampage is shown smiling and yelling out, “this is war! He done went too far. He netted me.” He felt that Griffin’s, “chicken faced assistant coach, his ugly ass needs to be the one who needs to be netted. Net his ass and go get him to sit on some eggs or something, cause his ass is ugly as hell.”
Eighth Fight
Nick Klein (Team Forrest) vs. CB Dollaway (Team Rampage)
Round 1:
CB starts with a right body kick, which allows Klein to grab the leg and take CB down. CB is able to get back up and get Klein’s back, but Klein is able to transition into a knee bar attempt that CB is able to push out of. CB is just pounding on Klein as he attempts unsuccessful submissions. CB is nearly caught in an armbar as the 1stRound comes to an end.
Round 2:
Both fighters start with the stand-up but for some reason Klein pulls guard. CB continues some of his ground-and-pound from the 1stRound. CB beautifully transitions out of another Klein submission attempt and gets Klein in a guillotine choke.
Team Rampage wins the fight and is now down 2-6 in the preliminary fights.
At the end of the show, Griffin allows Amir Sadollah to cut his hair as promised while Rampage is shown with a water gun spraying Griffin in his locker room.
The Quarterfinal match-ups are announced after White, Jackson, and Griffin deliberate with the remaining fighters. The fights are as follows:
- Jesse Taylor vs. Dante Rivera
- Amir Sadollah vs. Matt Brown
- Daniel Cramer vs. Tim Credeur
- CB Dollaway vs. Cale Yarbrough
