On Tuesday afternoon, it was announced that an undisclosed injury has forced Erik Koch out of his much anticipated UFC 143 scrap against Dustin Poirier (Pictured). The planet’s most prestigious MMA organization may be scouring the globe for a suitable replacement, but Poirier already has a special someone in mind.
“I’m sure the @ufc will give me another great fight for 143 maybe the Zombie!! Sounds like a war to me!” Poirier tweeted.
Chan Sung Jung is fresh off serving up an upset special over Mark Hominick at UFC 140. “The Korean Zombie” bumped his record to 12-3 following the seven-second knockout victory.
Poirer owns an impressive 11-1 record and is unbeaten in his three big league appearances. The featherweight was seen last month submitting Pablo Garza at “UFC on FOX.”
The Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts the February 4th festivities.
An interim welterweight title tilt between Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit is slated to headline the pay-per-view broadcast.
