Although the event is still two months away, UFC 105 has already undergone a few roster changes, including what looks to be the night’s co-main event bout featuring Michael Bisping and Wanderlei Silva. Here is Manchester, England’s most updated fight card.
Bisping was originally expected to face former PrideFC 205-pound champ on the card, however Wandy recently went under the knife to remove scar tissue from his face.
Speaking of faces, Bisping appears to have recovered from getting his slapped silly by Dan Henderson at UFC 100. The crafty veteran controlled the fight from start to finish, exposing Bisping’s lack of aggressiveness, and that’s why the Brit found himself unconscious by 3:20 in the 2ndRound.
Bisping now faces Denis Kang, who boasts a 32-11- 1 pro mark. Kang was considered one of the world’s best middleweights. He was able to parlay his dynamic striking game with his strong wrestling skills and enjoy a 21-fight winning streak. That five-year run was brought to a crashing halt when Kazuo Misaki took a unanimous decision over him at “Pride: Bushido 13″ in November 2006.
Posting that L really must have gotten into Kang’s dome as he has gone a meager 4-3 since. However, he did show signs of life when he took down an explosive Xavier Foupa-Pokam at UFC 97.
Bisping/Wandy was slated to be UFC 105’s final bout, however Fighters Only is reporting that a Bisping/Kang tango would only warrant co-main event status in favor of a yet-to-be-named “high-profile” scrap.
UFC 105 takes place inside the Manchester Evening News Arena and will be made available for North American viewers for free via same-day tape delay on Spike TV.
