The three featured fights on “UFC on FOX: Evans vs. Davis” remain intact, but a couple of the preliminary scraps have undergone some changes.
Nik Lentz has agreed to replace injured Paul Sass and faces Evan Dunham in a lightweight affair, while Eddie Wineland has also been forced off the Octagon’s return to primetime television with an undisclosed injury.
Wineland was scheduled to fight Johnny Bedford, who now waits for a new bantamweight opponent to be named.
A light heavyweight top contender bout between Rashad Evans and Phil Davis headlines the freebie fight card. Speaking of #1 contender tangos, middleweights Mark Munoz and Chael Sonnen will serve as the co-main event to determine who gets next dibs at Anderson Silva’s title.
The United Center in Chicago, Illinois hosts the January 28th event.
