Mike Swick recently tweeted that he’s looking to return to the Octagon at UFC 104. Originally scheduled to face Martin Kampmann at UFC 103 on September 19th, Swick was forced off the card after suffering a concussion during training. “I have no set return yet. I just said I will be ready by UFC 104. So 104, 105, 106, 107… I will fight as soon as I get an opportunity!” Swick exclaimed.
The fight with Kampmann was set to be for the #1 contender slot to face welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre sometime after the new year.
It appears now that Swick is looking for a new opponent for his return to the Octagon saying that he would love to face a former champion in his return.
“No next opponent has been offered, but yes I would love to fight Hughes. I will be ready by UFC 104 so just waiting for the UFC to call,” Swick stated.
Obviously, a Swick vs. Hughes bout at UFC 104 is just speculation at the moment, but it looks like Swick could return to the UFC as early as October.
