The Athletic Commission may refuse to acknowledge it, but UFC president Dana White (Pictured) officially has. Duane Ludwig will now be recognized for posting the fastest knockout inside the Octagon.
The honor has been a long time coming for Ludwig, who even took the liberty of starting a Facebook petition to have the UFC change things over from Todd Duffee’s 7.56 second KO of Tim Hague.
Based on the UFC’s stopwatch, Ludwig disposed of Jonathan Goulet in 6.01 seconds in January of 2006. The original time was clocked at 11 seconds.
Upon even further review, Duffee now drops to #3 for the fastest knockout in UFC history. Chan Sung “The Korean Zombie” Jung’s 6.26 second knockout of Mark Homick at UFC 140 now comes in at the second spot.
