You can be sure that “The Irish Hand Grenade” will be looking to make a bang this Holiday Season as Marcus Davis will be taking on Ben Saunders at UFC 106 on November 21st in Las Vegas, Nevada.
MMAjunkie.com is reporting that both fighters have verbally agreed to the contest and at least one of the two has already signed the contract, however the site was not able to confirm which.
The welterweights are each coming off disappointing losses and will look to climb back up the steep 170-pound totem pole. Suffering back-to-back losses in this organization, specifically in this division, isn’t a good thing unless you’re looking to collect unemployment.
Davis holds a 16-5 MMA record and is 8-3 inside the Octagon. He was last seen dropping a razor-thin split decision to rival Dan Hardy at UFC 99 back in June.
Saunders has shown signs of explosiveness to match his unmatched length in recent bouts, however was thoroughly schooled by Mike Swick on the same UFC 99 card.
Here are the fighters rumored to be competing inside the Mandalay Bay Event Center:
Dustin Hazelett vs. Karo Parisyan
Phil Baroni vs. Amir Sadollah
Marcus Davis vs. Ben Saunders
Ricardo Almeida vs. Jon Fitch
Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida
Tito Ortiz vs. Mark Coleman
Shane Carwin vs. Brock Lesnar (UFC Heavyweight Champion)
