Fight fans in Atlanta received some great news on Friday night. Outside of having 10 bouts confirmed for UFC 145, it appears reigning light heavyweight king Jon Jones (Pictured) could be headlining the Octagon’s return to Georgia.
“I realized over this time off that fighting is my livelihood,” Jones shared on FUEL TV’s post-fight show. “When I’m not fighting, even if I’m doing PR or working, I feel like I’m not doing anything. Fighting and training and being at the gym is what makes me feel alive.
“I’ve got to get back in there.”
Jones defended his throne against Lyoto Machida last month at UFC 140. Although he was pushing for an extended hiatus after posting arguably the most impressive one-year run in MMA history, “Bones” is warming up to a Hotlanta comeback.
“You know I’ve been hearing rumors of, maybe, the [Atlanta] card,” Jones added. “Around April I’ll be ready.”
Philips Arena is expected to host the UFC’s return to the Peach State.
