Dana White: “Floyd [Mayweather] Can’t Sell Tickets without Oscar [De La Hoya]”

You KNEW this was coming. Following another Floyd Mayweather Jr. jab at the sport of mixed martial arts, UFC president Dana White went off again in his UFC Video Blog on YouTube. “Floyd is always trying to talk and pump himself up. He talks about mixed martial arts cause he feels threatened by mixed martial arts,” White emphatically stated.

An admitted boxing fan himself, White doesn’t understand why Mayweather isn’t fighting the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world in Manny Pacquiao.

“What made Floyd Mayweather a pay-per-view star was Oscar De La Hoya,” White continued. “I know Floyd can’t sell tickets without Oscar, but what’s happening here is boxing is doing it to you again, they’re giving you the fight that you don’t want.

“Nobody asked for this fight with Mayweather and uh, what’s his name? What’s his name? Nobody even knows! Nobody in this room even knows who Floyd’s fighting! That’s my point, nobody gives a [expletive]!”

White took one final jab at the undefeated boxing champion saying that he’s ripping off boxing fans by making them pay to see him go “Dancing With the Stars” again.

“Everybody wants to know why the UFC’s becoming so popular, it’s because they’re sick of boxers not fighting. You get to pay 55 or 60 bucks to see Floyd, basically you get to see “Dancing With the Stars” again with Floyd Mayweather except you have to pay for it this time,” White exclaimed.
