Despite what Chael Sonnen claims, UFC president Dana White professes middleweight king Anderson Silva (Pictured) will be back inside the Octagon to defend his crown against either Uncle Chael or Michael Bisping.
“He will fight Anderson Silva if he wins. He will not fight for the heavyweight championship or Jon ‘Bones’ Jones. I have to have a separate press conference to stop all the stuff that Chael Sonnen says.”
If Bisping is able to serve up an upset special this Saturday at “UFC on FOX,” he will challenge Silva for his buckle in Brazil later this summer. Sonnen was offered the same guarantee, however stated during last week’s conference call that he and Silva would never cross paths again. In fact, he believes the baddest 185-pounder in bare feet has already retired without making an official announcement.
For his part, Sonnen has been flaunting a replica UFC title belt around all week. The onetime political hopeful even plopped it in front of him during Thursday’s presser. While his antics have created quite the ruckus, one man that’s not amused is tomorrow’s opponent.
“He can keep his fake belt and shove it up his ass,” Bisping flatly stated. “He ain’t fighting Anderson Silva.”
