Strikeforce has been the ideal MMA organization for all other promotions not named the UFC. They have been able to make a profitable venture out of an increasingly competitive sport and they’re at it again. Former World Combat League fighter Raymond Daniels is stepping into the Strikeforce cage and has been anointed as the “next Cung Le.”
Daniels will make his debut this Friday at Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Thomson. He is scheduled to face Jeremiah Metcalf in his MMA debut in the 185-lbs. Middleweight division.
He promised to, “give MMA fans something that they’ve never seen before.”Sounds similar to what Cung Le has been able to do for the Strikeforce organization in his short MMA career.
Le is now the Strikeforce Middleweight Champion and Daniels is looking to live up to the hype-machine that will surely follow him for the rest of his career.
“I look to be greater than Cung and surpass anyone who’s been considered at the top of their game. I try to live up to who I am and I expect great things from myself,” Daniels continued.
Friday will be the first step in what could be either a short or successful MMA career and Daniels is hoping for the latter.
