“Bellator 63” takes place March 30th inside Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut. The show features the opening round of the company’s eight-man Welterweight Tournament.
“Mohegan Sun has been a second home to us throughout this company’s history, so I’m thrilled to be returning on March 30,” said Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney. “Top to bottom, this is one of the deepest welterweight fields we’ve ever assembled. This tournament is stacked with experienced fighters that are still in their primes, so we should be in for a great night of fights.”
The 170-pound pairings are as follows: Bryan Baker battles Carlos Pereira, Brian Foster fights David Rickels, Ben Saunders meets Raul Amaya and Karl Amoussou faces Chris Lozano.
“War Machine” (formerly known as Jon Koppenhaver) was replaced by Lozano after the troubled fighter encountered legal issues that will send him back to jail.
The victor of the tournament earns $100,000 paycheck and next dibs at welterweight champion Ben Askren.
MTV2 broadcasts the main bouts starting at 8PM ET/PT.
