On Wednesday, CBS and EliteXC officially announced that the next CBS-EliteXC Saturday Night Fights will be taking place at the Stockton Arena in Stockton, Calififornia, Saturday, July 26th.  The event will be split into two shows, Showtime will run from 8-9PM EST and will hold three bouts. CBS will begin immediately after from 9-11PM. The Showtime broadcast will feature Antonio Silva competing to be EliteXC’s first ever Heavyweight title holder. His opponent is still to be determined.

CBS’s broadcast will feature two title bouts, Jake Shields will be taking on Nick Thompson to become EliteXC’s first ever Welterweight Champion, and the event will be headlined with the Middleweight rematch between Champion Robbie Lawler and Scott Smith. The two fought previously on CBS’s first promotion for EliteXC, however due to an eye poke to Smith, the bout was ruled a No Contest.

The entire fight card has not been finalized, however the Showtime broadcast will feature three bouts, and the CBS show will feature four bouts. Having three title fights in one night is by far and away be the best promotion that EliteXC has ever put on.

“One venue, two networks and seven exciting world class fights adds up to an entertaining and memorable mixed martial arts event in prime time,” stated Doug DeLuca, Executive Chairman of ProElite, Inc.

The only other bout that has been officially announced will be Stockton’s own Nick Diaz taking on Thomas Denny in a lightweight bout.

EliteXC will be filling out the card in the following weeks, of course 5thRound.com will be posting the announcements as they come.
