Nick Diaz may believed he was downright robbed of a decision victory at UFC 143 on Saturday night, but the Octagon’s official number crunchers claim Carlos Condit (Pictured) was correctly awarded the razor-thin verdict.
If we were to peruse the scrap’s official stat sheet, Condit connected on 46 more significant strikes (151) than his counterpart (105). While Diaz accused “The Natural Born Killer” of running from him throughout their 25-minute affair, Condit landed 159 total strikes to Diaz’s 117.
The former Strikeforce champion was successful on one of three takedown attempts, while Condit never once tried to test Diaz’s grappling game.
According to FightMetric, Condit earned a 48-47 decision victory. The three judges sitting cageside awarded him with 48-47, 49-46, 49-46 scores, which was more than enough to take home the interim welterweight crown.
