In an attempt to spice up a relatively slow MMA news day, UFC president Dana White announced Sunday evening that welterweights Johny Hendricks (Pictured) and Josh Koscheck will collide in the organization’s third show on FOX.
Hendricks has rattled of three consecutive victories, with his most recent coming in a UFC 141 knockout of Koscheck’s longtime buddy, Jon Fitch. Hendricks was hoping the win would have catapulted him into a championship bout, but it appears the bearded brawler will have to take at least another fight.
Since losing to champ Georges St-Pierre at UFC 124 in December 2010, Koscheck has rebounded to take his next two tangos. The controversial wrestler was seen last weekend beating Mike Pierce via split decision.
The 170-pound affair will likely serve as the show’s co-featured contest.
‘UFC on FOX 3‘ takes place May 5th inside IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. A five-round affair between Nate Diaz and Jim Miller headlines the festivities.
Here is the card’s current roster:
Louis Gaudinot vs. John Lineker

John Dodson vs. Darren Uyenoyama
John Hathaway vs. Pascal Krauss
