Last week, Floyd Mayweather received some heat for his controversial tweet regarding the overwhelming publicity New York Knickerbocker Jeremy Lin had received for his unexpected rise to stardom. On Tuesday’s edition of “UFC Tonight” on FUEL TV, UFC president Dana White (Pictured) ripped Mayweather a new one for his “racist” remark.
“Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he’s Asian,” Mayweather previously posted. “Black players do what he does every night and don’t get the same praise.”
White teed off on the boxer for not only disrespecting Lin, but also for what he said about Manny Pacquiao over a year ago. Just in case you missed that gem, it went a little something like this: “As soon as we come off vacation, we’re going to cook that little chump. Once I stomp that midget, I’ll make that [expletive] make me some sushi roll and cook me some rice.”
Here is some of what White had to say about “Money” during the show’s “Presidential Address” segment:
“First of all, what he said, I think, is racist. He’s made a couple of racist comments. And yes, Floyd, you’re racist with the stuff that you’ve said.
“First of all, Jeremy Lin gets all this credit because he’s an Asian player in the NBA that African-Americans never get? Yeah, he’s getting all this praise because he is an Asian guy playing in the NBA.
“And you say African-Americans don’t get it? Really? Kobe Bryant doesn’t get any praise? Michael Jordan never got any praise? The list goes on and on of guys who completely get praised for being great NBA basketball players. Not only can [Lin] compete and make it in the NBA, the guy is tearing it up and is breaking records, you knucklehead.
“Don’t worry about what all these other guys are doing, and shooting your big mouth off on Twitter. And I know I speak for millions and millions of other people … shut up.”
