According to the UFC, an undisclosed injury has forced Yves Edwards out of his lightweight shootout with Donald Cerrone (Pictured). As we all know fully well, the Octagon show waits for no man. Veteran Jeremy Stephens has agreed to serve as a substitute and meet “Cowboy” at “UFC on FUEL 3.”
Stephens was last seen dropping a split decision defeat to Anthony Pettis at UFC 136. “Lil’ Heathen” had ratted off two consecutive victories prior to that October outing.
Cerrone is looking to bounce back from a disappointing unanimous decision loss to Nate Diaz at UFC 141. The defeat snapped his six-fight winning streak, with four of those Ws coming in an impressive 2011 campaign.
Depending upon how the rest of the roster rounds out, their 155-pound affair will likely serve as the night’s co-featured attraction.
The May 15th event takes place inside Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia. FUEL TV will broadcast the event’s main card live.
Here is the show’s revised roster:
Dongi Yang vs. Brad Tavares
Aaron Riley vs. Cody McKenzie
Mike Easton vs. Yves Jabouin
Amir Sadollah vs. Jorge Lopez
TJ Grant vs. Carlo Prater
Igor Pokrajac vs. Thiago Silva
Tom Lawlor vs. Jason MacDonald
Donald Cerrone vs. Jeremy Stephens
Chan Sung “The Korean Zombie” Jung vs. Dustin Poirier (Three-Round Fight)
