For the first time in The Ultimate Fighter’s 15-season run, the reality show features live elimination bouts. The festivities kicked off Friday when 32 lightweights battled to earn a bed in the TUF house.
Of last night’s 16 scraps, five ended via submission, three by some form of knockout and eight went to the judges’ scorecards. Each fight consisted of a single, five-minute round.
UFC bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber serve as opposing coaches and will select their squads in next week’s episode.
“The Ultimate Fighter: Live” airs live every Friday for the next 12 weeks at 10PM ET (7PM PT satellite). The tournament winner will secure his future by scoring a six-figure UFC contract.
