The UFC fully comprehends that the Canadians love them some MMA, so that’s why the world’s premier mixed martial arts promotion is hosting a press conference there this Wednesday where they are expected to announce their debut in Calgary.

The presser takes place at Flames Central in Calgary at 12PM local time (11AM PT/2PM ET). UFC president Dana White (Pictured) and UFC director of Canadian operations Tom Wright will be at the podium.

Although White wasn’t in a position to confirm UFC 149 several weeks back, the hotly rumored July 21st event is expected to go down inside Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary.

In addition to Wednesday’s media powwow, the UFC will also be holding open workouts on Thursday at BDB Martial Arts in Calgary from 11AM-1PM local time.

UFC middleweights Jason MacDonald, Nick Ring, lightweight Mitch Clarke, as well as Calgary Stampeders defensive back Eric Fraser and defensive lineman Corey Mace are slated to perform.

Both of next week’s festivities are free and open to the public.
