According to Brazilian website Globo.com, up-and-coming welterweight Erick Silva (Pictured) will meet Charlie Brenneman at “UFC on FX 3.”
Silva is looking to rebound from a controversial loss. In the opening ticks of his UFC 142 contest against Carlo Prater, Silva folded Prater over with a knee to the midsection before laying the lumber on his dazed opponent.
Seconds before Bruce Buffer was to confirm the verdict over the speaker system, referee Mario Yamasaki alerted the UFC announcer that Silva had been disqualified for hitting Prater with illegal shots to the back of the head during his assault.
Brenneman most recently took a unanimous decision victory over Daniel Roberts in January. “The Spaniard” has ratted off wins in three of his last four outings.
The event takes place June 8th, but a host venue or city has yet to be announced for the show.
FX will broadcast the featured bouts live at 9PM ET/6PM PT.
