‘Strikeforce: Grand Prix Heavyweight Tournament’ Roster Filling Up Fast

Shortly after announcing several main card bouts for “Strikeforce: Grand Prix Heavyweight Tournament,” the organization is steadily rounding out the roster for the show’s preliminary card.

Billy Evangelista (Pictured) vs. James Terry, Virgil Zwicker vs. Guto Inocente and Gian Villante vs. Derrick Mehmen have all been added to the May 19th event. Seven scraps have been confirmed for the lineup thus far.

HP Pavilion in San Jose, California will host the shindig.

Josh Barnett and Daniel Cormier will headline the festivities by meeting in the finals of the Heavyweight Grand Prix. Lightweight king Gilbert Melendez completes his trilogy against Josh Thomson in the night’s co-featured contest.

According to the trusty rumor mill, former UFC star Nate Marquardt could make his promotional debut in the event against Tyron Woodley.

Showtime Extreme airs the preliminary bouts at 8PM ET/PT, while Showtime will broadcast the main card at 10PM ET/PT.
