Nate Diaz (Pictured) might not be sporting UFC bling-bling around his waist, but the lightweight is now donning some black-black. Diaz has just received arguably the highest honor in jiu jitsu by earning a black belt from a Gracie.
Diaz’s longtime trainer, Cesar Gracie, handed him his new hardware during Thursday’s practice session.
The 26-year-old owns a 15-7 professional mixed martial arts record. Ten of his victories have come by way of submission. His first four fights inside the Octagon ended victoriously via tap out.
Diaz has found new life since dropping back down to the 155-pound division. Mr. 209 posted the most impressive win of his career in his last outing by trouncing Donald Cerrone at UFC 141.
He headlines “UFC on FOX 3” opposite Jim Miller on May 5th inside IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
