A lightweight affair between John Alessio and Mark Bocek (Pictured) kicked off the “UFC 145: Jones vs. Evans” pay-per-view broadcast.

Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia is hosting tonight’s festivities. The show is headlined by a light heavyweight title tilt between champion Jon Jones and Rashad Evans.

Here is the play-by-play from Alessio vs. Bocek:


Bocek has him clinched against the cage and finally trips him to the canvas. He’s unloading several short elbows to the dome. Bocek swings around to his back and is attempting a rear-naked choke.


Alessio clocks him with a one-two combination. Bocek takes him to the ground and is working an efficient ground-and-pound. Alessio lands a left hook as he gets to his feet.


Alessio scores on a powerful leg kick and follows up with a left hand. Bocek gets him down and takes his back. He has secured a body triangle. Alessio fights to his feet and tags him with a front kick to the face.
