UFC Middleweight Michael Bisping

It appears one of the most star-studded fight cards in the history of ever has taken a significant hit. The middleweight shootout between Michael Bisping (Pictured) and Tim Boetsch has been removed from the “UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II” lineup.

The UFC essentially confirmed the bout’s dismissal Tuesday in an email listing the event’s five featured fights sans Bisping vs. Boetsch. No word on why the 185-pound affair was pulled from the blockbuster roster or where it will be relocated to.

Bisping is looking to rebound from a decision loss to Chael Sonnen at “UFC on FOX 2.” The January defeat snapped “The Count’s” four-fight winning streak.

Boetsch has posted a perfect 3-0 mark since dropping to the 185-pound division. “The Barbarian” is fresh off a spectacular comeback victory over former top contender Yushin Okami at UFC 144.

UFC 148 takes place inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The pay-per-view broadcast airs live at 10PM ET/7PM PT.
