In an attempt to spice up a rather slow day in the world of mixed martial arts, the planet’s most prestigious MMA promotion announced former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida (Pictured) will battle Ryan Bader at “UFC on FOX 4.”
The organization is still trying to secure a venue to host the August 4th shindig, but the show is expected to take place somewhere in Southern California.
Machida has dropped three of his past four fights. “The Dragon” was last seen unconscious on the Octagon canvas after getting choked out by reigning champ Jon Jones at UFC 140 in December.
After following up his first career blemish with an upset loss to Tito Ortiz, Bader has managed to right the ship in his past two outings. “The Ultimate Fighter 8” winner cruised to a unanimous decision victory over Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in his most recent foray to the cage.
Here are the athletes expected to preform in So Cal:
Joe Lauzon vs. Terry Etim
Lyoto Machida vs. Ryan Bader
Brian Stann vs. Hector Lombard
