What do Joe Lauzon (Pictured) and Terry Etim have in common? They both found themselves on the wrong end of a highlight-reel head kick in their last outing and will be inside the Octagon at the exact same time on August 4th.
Lauzon recently announced the lightweight shootout on his official website.
“He has a lot of wins by submission and generally uses his ‘long ass arms’ to choke people into submission,” Lauzon said of his upcoming assignment. “While I can’t grow my arms or legs any longer to help deal with him, I will be training like a mad man to try and negate his length and bring the fight to him.”
Lauzon was last seen being put to sleep by Anthony Pettis at UFC 144, while Etim was unconscious on the canvas after eating Edson Barboza’s spinning wheel kick at UFC 142.
The 155-pounders were initially slated to meet at UFC 118, but Etim was forced to withdraw with a rib injury. Lauzon went on to steamroll Gabe Ruediger in the August 2010 event.
The organization is still looking to secure a venue to host “UFC on FOX: Stann vs. Lombard,” though the show is expected to take place in Los Angeles, California.
