Chael Sonnen (Pictured) will be in top physical condition when he faces Anderson Silva at UFC 148, ’cause Stone Cold said so. The middleweight top contender’s contacts in the professional wrestling world knows no bounds. Not only is Uncle Chael BFFs with CM Punk, but it appears he’s also had a top secret relationship with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin for several years.

“I don’t believe I’ve ever mentioned that,” Sonnen told OTR of his bromance with Stone Cold. “In fact, part of my arrangement with Mr. Austin is that I don’t get too into it so you’re gonna have to let me sidestep this one. But look, this isn’t anything new. I’ve worked with him for the last three fights. He’s a strength and conditioning coach, he has me out to the ranch and he puts me through hell for 30 days.

“That’s what we use to jump start our training, basically. That’s it. He doesn’t want to be involved and I’m not going to involve him.”

It would only be fair for Sonnen to recruit whoever he can to get ready for the baddest 185-pounder in bare feet. Especially when you consider “The Spider” has recently rekindled his partnership with Steven Seagal to prepare for their rematch.

After manhandling Silva for nearly five complete rounds at UFC 117, Sonnen was abruptly submitted by the champion with only 110 ticks remaining on the clock.

MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts the July 7th shootout.
