Denis Kang's DREAM Over?

Middleweight Denis Kang went from being one of the best fighters in the world to being pulled off the DREAM.5 card for no reason. When asked why he was removed from his scheduled fight on July 21st, “I have no idea,” Kang told MMAWeekly. With back-to-back losses to Yoshihiro Akiyama and Gegard Mousasi and only one win in his last four fights, one has to wonder if DREAM even wants Kang back.

“I want to stay with them [DREAM]. I have no problem with them,” Kang went on to say.

With his July 21st fight no longer on the books, Kang now has to focus on defending his Spirit MC title on August 31st against Jae Young Kim. If Kang hopes to regain the magic that he had from 2002-2006 when he went 24 fights without a single loss, he’s going to have to defeat Kim again. Kang beat Kim back in 2004 via TKO at Spirit MC – Interleague 1.

For now though, Kang is going to go back home and train with the likes of Georges St-Pierre, Patrick Cote and David Loiseau.
