It appears UFC 146 may have been jinxed from the jump. With just nine days remaining until showtime, a knee injury has forced Mark Hunt (Pictured) out of his heavyweight scrap against Stefan Struve.
As we all know full well, the Octagon show waits for no man. Former Strikeforce slugger Lavar Johnson has agreed to serve as substitute on May 26th.
Earlier this month, Johnson posted a 1stRound TKO victory over Pat Barry. The vicious onslaught came on the heels of his opening round knockout of Joey Beltran in his big league debut.
Struve will be riding a two-fight winning streak into the matchup. “The Skyscraper” has rattled off victories in four of his last five outings.
With Hunt’s injury, every bout on the UFC’s first all-heavyweight main card has now been changed.
MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts the festivities. Junior dos Santos defends his freshly-minted 265-pound crown against Frank Mir in the show’s featured attraction.
The pay-per-view broadcast begins live at 10PM ET/7PM PT.
