It was reported and confirmed early Saturday that Sam Stout will be taking on Terry Etim at UFC 89. Stout’s Trainer, Shawn Tompkins, confirmed the fight on Saturday morning. UFC 89 will be taking place in Birmingham, England on October 18th. Also, it was reported yesterday that Marcus Davis has accepted an offer from the UFC to fight against England’s own, Paul Kelly, on the card.
“I don’t think (the fight with Kelly) is official yet,” Davis told MMAJunkie. “I haven’t received the contract to fight (Kelly) yet. But (the UFC) called to ask me, and I said yes, and I guess they asked him and he said yes.”
Tompkins told The Fight Network that Stout will be taking on Etim, and is prepared to get his career back on track. Stout suffered a tough Split Decision loss to Rich Clementi at UFC 83 in his last outting. Even though Stout is only 2-3 with the UFC, it was reported that he recently earned himself a four-fight contract extension with the MMA powerhouse.

The card will be headlined by a Welterweight clash of epic proportions, as Diego Sanchez and Thiago Alves will square off in a top contender bout.
