UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones (Pictured) plead guilty to Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on Tuesday with the District Attorney’s office in Binghamton City Court in New York.
According to 12ActionNews, two traffic violations – one for an improper turn and another for deviating from a direct course – were dismissed.
Jones’ attorney told the judge the agreement for punishment is a fine and a conditional discharge.
The 24-year-old’s license has been temporarily suspended. “Bones” must also complete an alcohol abuse and dependency program before his June 19th sentencing.
Jones faces up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
On May 19th at around 5AM, the skyrocketing superstar wrapped his $190,000 Bentley around a telephone pole near the corner of Grand Boulevard and Helen Street in Binghamton. He was arrested on the scene for suspicion of DUI.
Jones is scheduled to defend his crown against Dan Henderson at UFC 151 on September 1st.
