The injury bug rears its ugly head once again. On Wednesday, middleweight Brian Stann (Pictured) announced a wounded shoulder has forced him out of his “UFC on FOX 4” fight against Hector Lombard.
“No one is more disappointed than I, meant the world to headline a UFC, separated shoulder, rehab will start tomorrow, back asap, apologies,” Stann tweeted.
Stann will be riding the pine for 6-to-8 weeks.
No word if the UFC is looking for a replacement to headline the August 4th show opposite Lombard, or if they intend to postpone “Lightning’s” big league debut.
Lombard has strung together 24 consecutive wins and has long been considered to be one of the planet’s top 185-pounders not competing in the UFC. He was last seen posting a TKO victory over Trevor Prangley at “Bellator 58” this past November in a 195-pound catchweight bout.
Staples Center in Los Angeles, California is expected to host the shindig.
FOX will broadcast the main card live beginning at 8PM ET/5PM PT.
