What does it take to earn another shot with the UFC? In Joey Beltran’s (Pictured) case, a badass nickname and a unanimous decision win over Anton Talamantes at “C3 Fights: Great Plains Showdown.” “The Mexicutioner” returns to the big leagues following a one-fight absence to tango with James Te Huna at “UFC on FUEL TV 4.”

Beltran was released by the planet’s premier mixed martial arts promotion after getting put to sleep by Lavar Johnson in January. The 30-year-old owns a 14-7 professional record, with 11 of his wins coming via some form of knockout. However, he only won half of his six UFC scraps.

Te Huna, or as Chael Sonnen likes to call him, “Tuna,” was originally slotted to face Brandon Vera in the July 11th event. However, Vera was promoted to headline “UFC on FOX 4” opposite Mauricio “Shogun” Rua last week.

Te Huna is victorious in three of his last four contests and will be riding a two-fight winning streak into the light heavyweight shootout. His lone blemish in the Octagon came at the hands of skyrocketing superstar Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 127.

FUEL TV will broadcast the featured bouts live beginning at 8PM ET/5PM PT. Beltran vs. Te Huna are expected to make it on the main card.

HP Pavilion in San Jose, California hosts the bash.
