The curious case of Bibiano Fernandes’ UFC contract. The planet’s premier mixed martial arts promotion announced eight days ago they had added Bibiano Fernandes to their bantamweight roster. On Monday, the organization reported “The Flash’s” big league debut against Roland Delorme (Pictured) had been postponed due to injury.
The only problem is, Fernandes claims on his Facebook page that he never inked a deal to join the UFC and makes no mention of a wound.
On the flipside, Delorme states he received, signed and submitted a bout agreement to face Fernandes at UFC 149.
“First off, I signed my end of the contract and I haven’t heard anything different from the UFC,” Delorme told 5thRound.com. “Maybe when Bibiano takes his tampon out we can fight each other because I don’t know what to make of this.
“Like really, where else is he gonna go if you wanna fight the best in the world? There is only one place to be, and that’s the UFC. So I don’t know what he’s thinking.”
According to Fernandes, the 32-year-old believes he’s getting lowballed by the UFC and he can garner a more lucrative deal elsewhere.
Delorme, who is a former “The Ultimate Fighter 14″ cast member, is perfect through his first two scraps inside the Octagon. After beating Josh Ferguson in the show’s live finale, the Canadian rallied to submit Nick Denis at “UFC on FOX 3.”
The organization is currently scouring its roster to find Delorme a new nemesis for July 21st.
