The UFC officially added three more bouts to UFC 89: Bisping vs. Leben earlier today. Light heavyweight standout Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou will face off against UFC veteran Luiz Cane, Dan Hardy will get a very tough test in his UFC debut against former PRIDE star Akihiro Gono and Shane Carwin will bang it out with Neil Wain in a heavyweight showdown.
Those three fights will be added to the main event that will see the UK’s own Michael Bisping finally take on Chris Leben in a fight that will have middleweight title implications.
Leben and Bisping were originally supposed to square off at UFC 85, but a a probation violation stemming from a DUI put Leben in the slammer.
Sokoudjou is looking to continue his winning ways in the UFC after dispatching of Kazuhiro Nakamura at UFC 84. Once thought of as one of the top 5 light heavyweights in the world, he’s now focussed on getting back into the mix in the UFC’s 205-lbs. division.
