Although the UFC has yet to make an official announcement, the MMA promotion’s fourth and final FOX card of 2012 will take place December 5th.
The Octagon’s broadcast partners let the cat out of the bag in Monday’s press release promoting a new preview series.
“The second special, which focuses on the fighters battling in the Saturday, December 8th prime time UFC on FOX event, airs Sunday, December 2nd opposite local NFL on FOX single-header coverage,” the network revealed.
Unfortunately for fight fans, no bouts were announced. Furthermore, it is unknown which venue will host the festivities.
“UFC on FOX 2” took place January 28th inside United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The show featured a light heavyweight scrap between Rashad Evans and Phil Davis.
The company’s third event on FOX was held on May 5th and showcased a lightweight contest with Nate Diaz and Jim Miller.
“UFC on FOX 4” is slotted for August 4th in California, most likely at Staples Center in Los Angeles. Former 205-pound champ Mauricio “Shogun” Rua headlines opposite Brandon Vera.
None of the UFC’s FOX cards have eclipsed the ratings success their debut had on the network. Although November’s heavyweight championship affair between Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez lasted merely 64 seconds, the show peaked at 8.8 million viewers.
