All of the details are still coming in, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t write about what we already know. On July 5th, 2008, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was on top of the UFC as the undisputed light heavyweight champion. On July 15th, 2008, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will find himself in prison. UFC President Dana White must be loving this.
UFC newcomer Jesse Taylor was kicked out of the UFC for acting like a fool even before he was really in the UFC. That begs the question, what’s White’s punishment for Jackson?
White had already avoided the re-match question with current UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin as soon as the fight was over. Now, he has an excuse to use to deny Jackson an immediate re-match.
Jackson is being charged with multiple felonies and there could be more charges on the way. First, he hit a car and then fled the seen. Then, he evaded police officers in his “Rampage” Toyo Tires truck until he was finally caught and arrested at gunpoint (see TMZ picture above).
It’s crazy to think how quickly things have turned in Jackson’s life. He was rolling in penthouses in Las Vegas ten days ago and tonight he’ll find himself in a prison cell.
