UFC Chad Mendes

A featherweight affair between Chad Mendes (Pictured) and Cody McKenzie was the second scrap to air in Saturday’s “UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II” pay-per-view broadcast.

After seven fights, there was finally a bout that didn’t require the assistance of the three judges sitting Octagon-side.

Mendes posted the first finish of the night by quickly disposing of McKenzie. I guess that’s why “Money” was a 7-to-1 odds-on favorite.

MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada is hosting tonight’s festivities. The show is headlined by the highly-anticipated rematch between middleweight king Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen.

Here is the play-by-play from Mendes and McKenzie:

Mendes catches a kick and clocks him with a vicious body shot. McKenzie immediately folds over and Mendes gives him the business on the mat. Game. Set. Match, Mendes.
