According to UFC president Dana White (Pictured), the Octagon will soon be taking its talents to Russia. While White didn’t disclose an exact date or venue for their premiere in Ivan Drago’s backyard, he spoke as though the ball was already rolling on their next invasion.
“I don’t know how well I’d do in Russia,” White revealed over the weekend. “But yeah, we’re actually taking an event to Russia very soon. Very soon. Sooner than you think.”
The UFC’s timing for taking over Russia is impeccable. Fedor Emelianenko, the country’s most popular mixed martial artist and public enemy #1 to White, called it a career just last month after posting a win in front of his fellow countrymen.
This past February, the UFC returned to Japan for the first time since 2000. They will also be making their debut in China on November 10th.
