“The Ultimate Fighter 8” runner-up Vinny Magalhaes (Pictured) will be taking his talents back to the Octagon. According to Brazilian website Tatame, which 5thRound.com subsequently confirmed with sources close to the situation, Magalhaes has inked a multi-fight deal to rejoin the UFC.
Magalhaes lost both of his bouts in his first big league stint. He was released after dropping a decision to Eliot Marshall at UFC 97 in April 2009.
Magalhaes went on to win seven of his next eight scraps en route to capturing the M-1 Global light heavyweight crown. After a bitter contract dispute with the mixed martial arts promotion, the 28-year-old attempted to sell his championship belt on eBay.
His hardware was removed from the auction site before getting purchased, though.
No word on when “Pezao” will break in his new UFC contract. However, according to the trusty rumor mill, Magalhaes could be stepping back in the cage September 1st at UFC 151.
