On Tuesday’s edition of FUEL TV’s UFC Tonight, it was announced a bulging disc in Josh Koscheck’s (Pictured) back will force the wrestler out of his critical UFC 151 fight against Jake Ellenberger.
The welterweights were slated to co-headline the pay-per-view broadcast. No word on who will step in to replace Kos on September 1st.
Koscheck was looking to make one final run at the gold before calling it a career. The 34-year-old has lost two of his last four fights, with his most recent blemish coming in a controversial split decision to Johny Hendricks in May.
Ellenberger had rattled off six consecutive victories prior to coming into contact with Martin Kampmann’s knee. “The Juggernaut” was well on his way to securing a title fight before the setback.
Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts the bash.
