5thRound.com was live on location as all the fighters participating in UFC 78 Validation arrived in Newark, NJ today at 4PM EST to weigh-in for their fights tomorrow. This was the first weigh-ins in a while where all fighters made weight without any issues, outside of the shoving match between Evans and Bisping.
All was quiet on the weigh-in front, until the two main fighters took the stage. After weighing in, Evans refused to shake hands with Bisping after they posed for the stare down. Bisping took offense to this as both fighters exchanged words. Evans then pushed Bisping and the two had to be separated by UFC President Dana White.
More than likely, this was a ploy by the two fighters and the UFC to try and help promote the fight, since there has been unfavorable attention regarding this particular card. This is one of the weaker UFC promotions in recent history, and the fans have let it be known. Here are the results of the weigh-ins for UFC 78:
Michael Bisping (205) vs. Rashad Evans (206)
Houston Alexander (203) vs. Thiago Silva (204)
Ryo Chonan (169.5) vs. Karo Parisyan (170)
