It’s been well documented Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez will defend his crown against Pat Healy at Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento, California. However, the 155-pound affair had been the only bout confirmed for the September 29th show.
The UFC’s little brother has just confirmed a slew of scraps for the roster.
As expected, Jorge Santiago (Pictured) has been brought back by Zuffa. The welterweight meets Quinn Mulhern inside the hexagon. Santiago’s Blackzilian brother, Carlos Augusto Filho, will battle Gian Villante, former lightweight champ Josh Thomson clashes with Caros Fodor, Mike Kyle meets Dion Staring and Isaac Vallie-Flagg tangos with Adriano Martins.
Where these fights will appear in the lineup, as Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker likes to say all the livelong day about everything, “is still to be determined.”
Showtime will broadcast the main card beginning at 10PM ET/PT.
Here is the card’s current agenda:
Quinn Mulhern vs. Jorge Santiago
Isaac Vallie-Flagg vs. Adriano Martins
Mike Kyle vs. Dion Staring
Josh Thomson vs. Caros Fodor
Carlos Augusto Filho vs. Gian Villante
Pat Healy vs. Gilbert Melendez (Strikeforce lightweight champion)
