On Friday evening, UFC president Dana White confirmed a middleweight shootout between Hector Lombard (Pictured) and Rousimar Palhares for “UFC on FX 6.”
The yet-to-be announced event takes place December 15th in Australia (airs Friday the 14th in North America). The organization is still trying to secure a venue to host the bash.
Lombard had rattled off 24 consecutive victories en route to capturing the Bellator middleweight crown prior to dropping a split decision defeat to Tim Boetsch in his big league debut. The July bout marked “Lightning’s” first blemish since losing to Gegard Mousasi in November of 2006.
Palhares is also looking to bounce back from a loss of his own. The submission specialist had won three straight scraps before using his face to block Alan Belcher’s fists in May.
No other fights have been reported for the lineup thus far.
FX is expected to broadcast the main card live in North America.
