According to the Brazilian website Globo, former light heavyweight champ Rashad Evans (Pictured) will end his 10-month hiatus to face Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in early 2013.
While an exact date wasn’t reported, it is believed the two will tango on Super Bowl weekend in Las Vegas. If the rumor mill holds true, the event will take place February 2nd at either the MGM Grand Garden Arena or Mandalay Bay Events Center.
“Suga” hasn’t been seen since reigning 205-pound king Jon Jones soured his championship hopes at UFC 145 in April. Evans had rattled off four consecutive victories prior to the unanimous decision defeat to his bitter rival.
Nogueira, meanwhile, snapped his two-fight losing skid in his last outing by taking down Tito Ortiz at UFC 140. Although “Little Nog” owns an impressive 20-5 professional record, the veteran has gone just 3-2 since joining the big leagues in November 2009.
