Last week, Josh Koscheck (Pictured) revealed his 2012 campaign was wrapped after the UFC failed to issue him a new assignment for the year. However, the controversial welterweight did release an ambition list of opponents he’d like to face in 2013.
It appears Nick Diaz has emerged atop Kos’ hit list. According to Koscheck, Diaz’s longtime manager, Cesar Gracie, wants to arrange a tango for Super Bowl weekend in Las Vegas and he’s more than willing to oblige.
“I’d like to fight b4 Feb…But…Cesar is calling 4 me the fight Diaz in Feb. Super Bowl weekend! What you guy think? I am DOWN! Don’t be scared Homie!” Koscheck tweeted.
That all sounds fine and dandy, but Diaz is currently serving a 12-month marijuana suspension and isn’t eligible to reapply for licensing until February 4th, exactly one year after losing to Carlos Condit for the interim welterweight title.
The UFC is expected to hold their Super Bowl weekend extravaganza on February 2nd.
Koscheck was last seen dropping a controversial split decision defeat to Johny Hendricks at “UFC on FOX 3.” All but two of his 23 professional fights took place under the UFC’s watch.
Demian Maia, Jake Ellenberger and Rory MacDonald also appeared on Koscheck’s wish list.
